Time for a change

>>>> Quotes from a 4 year old>>>>

We are getting in the car and Ashlyn ( my 10 year old) is helping buckle Madison in her car seat. Ashlyn accidentally hits Madison's elbow with the buckle and she says....

" SEE!!! this is why I want Humans to buckle me!!!! "

You just never know what that girl is going to say...

So the big thing this week is communication from Dawson. He has been, and continues to talk really well. He can say more words now than I can count ( which is over 70) but we broke another barrier this week with him.
Two times this week he had a dirty diaper and came to us and did the sign language for
" CHANGE" This kid still continues to amaze us. He's figured out that sitting around in dirty diapers stinks ( no pun intended) and used his communication skills to do something about it.

Go Dawson go!!

Other than that he has been busy as usual tormenting his sister. Pulling hair, pinching, and teasing her with stuff he has but has no intention on letting her have..... sigh Aint life grand?!?!?!?!?!

We hope and pray everybody has a safe and wonderful weekend.

Our love goes out to each of you

Shots and Haircuts

It seems the warmer the weather gets... the busier we get!! Henceforth explaining the time between posts. At the end of the day it seems there is either no time left or energy left to share. I apologize and hope to do better.

Today was a busy day for Daswon. He got some shots today and we topped off the day with a nice haircut. Not just a trim, but a true haircut. I'm lovin the new look.

We have been slowly trying to get Dawson caught up on his shots. If you remember, we stopped all immunizations when he was diagnosed at two months. So now we , along with his doctors, have come up with a new immunization schedule that will allow him to get his shots in increments instead of all at once. If all goes well, he will be all caught up by Kindergarten. As of today he is caught up to 6 months.

We are gearing up for a big celebration soon. Today marks 313 days seizure free!!! Praise GOD!!!! so at the one year mark we are going to have a party and celebrate one year seizure free. So on May 30th we will be celebrating ,and to all our friends and family, this is your early heads up and we hope you will be able to attend this most joyous occasion as we celebrate the miracle of a healed child.

Other than that, he has been busy just being a normal one year old. This week has been another blossoming week verbally. Lots of words now and he can also name and make the sounds of a few animals. ( the pig is our favorite )

We have lots of pics to post so check back soon and hopefully we will have those up for you guys.

Thank you and we love you

Dawson vs stairs, Softball, and Soccer

I stepped out onto the deck at my parents house to throw the ball with Katelin. Dawson came outside with me and while I was involved in playing ball this happened to Dawson!!. I felt horrible as I watched him tumble down the stairs and land in the yard. In my mind it all happened in slow motion and my brain was screaming NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. There was nothing I could do to stop it. Gravitational laws were definitely in effect. Shortly after, he tripped and busted the inside of his lip..... Did I mention how HORRIBLE I felt!!!! I'm still getting the " How could you let that happen?" look... I really feel horrible!!

Katelin at her first Softball game. She got two base hits and we were SO proud of her.

Dawson is soooo happy with mom

Flowers

Yesterday Madison and I were sitting on the swing and the following conversation took place..

" Daddy, did you know that all flowers have stems?"

" Yep"

" Daddy, did you know that all flowers have petals?"

"Yep"

" Daddy?" *( looking at the grass) " that purple flower has a stem."

" Yep"

" Daddy?" ( looking at the grass) " that white flower has petals."

" yep"

" Daddy?" ( looking at the grass) " That pink flower has a stem."

" yep"

" THEN WHY DO YOU KEEP CALLING THEM WEEDS?!?!?!"

Dawson is doing great!!! and is trucking right along. New words continue to come rapidly and I think he knows more words than I do!!!!

And..... he even ate a box of raisins without it having to put it between two pieces of bread.

We love you

No Appetite

There is one thing Dawson has always been good at..... Eating

Until now that is..

For the past couple of weeks Dawson just has not been eating like he used to. Since birth, No matter what you put in front of him he ate it.. meat, veggies, baby food of all kinds, yogurt, It just didn't matter what it was. Not only would he eat it, he would eat ALL of it.

As of now, the only thing he will readily eat is a sandwich. Isn't that funny??

He looks and snubs his nose at everything right now. Try to feed him chicken he says UH UH. Put it between two pieces of bread and watch out!!

As long as you can get whatever you want him to eat in sandwich form.. All is good.

Anything other than a sandwich... forget about it.

I know its just a phase, but try putting cereal between two pieces of bread HA!!

Thank you or you prayers and for checking in on Dawson

Our love to all
